Scottsdale, Arizona – A recently published report from Synergy Research Group (SRG) showed the combined DSL and Cable Broadband equipment market fell 11.4 percent compared to Q1 2004 and increased 0.6 percent over Q2 2003. Carriers reported strong DSL subscriber growth as earlier investments satisfied demand.
“Capital spending in some of the largest markets for DSL equipment, such as the United States and China, slowed down considerably in the quarter. DSL equipment vendors that maintained or increased their share did so by winning deals in Europe and in the Asia/Pacific region outside China”, said Joshua Johnson, Industry Analyst at Synergy Research Group. “However, the Cable Broadband market, led by North American MSO spending, grew 7 percent on increased marketing and service bundling.”
